Taichung Liuchuan Canal Waterfront
Liuchuan Canal is used for water regulation in between low flow and high flow seasons. It is flexible like a sponge capable of absorbing and releasing water.
Liuchuan Canal was once heavily polluted. Water quality has been significantly improved by intercepting upstream flow of Liuchuan Canal to Zhonghua water treatment plant. Pollution has been contained to a mild level. In addition to the newly planted 37 trees on both sides of the riverbank, 38 willows were also rooted to recreate the original setting of Liuchuan. Moreover, a variety of native plants like Chinese fringe tree, Taiwanese rain tree and Himalayan ash enrich Liuchuan’s scenery throughout the year.
How to Get There
NiceI walked along this beautiful riverwalk and took some good photos yesterday. Was nice to see so check it out.
Lyuchuan or Liuchuanspelling mistake Lyuchuan not Liuchuan you should use the same name or foreigner might think there are two seperate places!
Not that long ...What there was of it, I liked, particularly at night. (We were here around Christmas time, so maybe there were more lights than usual?!?) We sent on a Sunday later afternoon, and frankly there were...
Beautiful at nightA "neighborhood" park. Very beautiful at night with the lighting. Nice place to take a scroll after dinner.
Closed for refurbishmentUnfortunately this was closed for refurbishment when we were there. But it looks like a beautiful place with a nice promenade. For sure a nice spot for a romantic stroll at night.
