2019 Taichung Mazu International Festival –Glory of Century-Old Temples takes place from February 9th to May 25th. More than forty performing groups from not only Taichung City but from all over Taiwan and the world are invited to elevate the depth and quality of temple fair performing art. There will be a total of eleven large-scale performances and Taiwanese operas performed at twelve century-old temples. In addition, special support goes to local cultural and art groups as the organizers endeavor to enhance the scale and impact of events and practices deriving from Mazu belief.

“Along with Mazu” is the core of this year’s festival inspired by the piousness of fellow participants embarking on the annual Mazu pilgrimage. Elements of religion, art, local culture and more are also incorporated as part of the theme. There will be a lucky draw event at each temple where winners will be announced simultaneously. Raffle tickets will be issued thirty minutes before the start of each lucky draw session in limited amounts. Participants can also redeem limited gifts at the “Love Sharing Giveaway” event.
