Taichung Comic Arts Festival Opens on August 9 Featuring Exclusive Hands-on Level Challenges for the Ninjutsu Squad 7 Training from Boruto: Naruto the Movie
2019 Taichung Comic Arts Festival hosted by Taichung City Government Information Bureau will take place from August 9 to August 26 at the Cultural Heritage Park, MOC, Executive Yuan (formerly the Taichung Cultural and Creative Industries Park).
This year’s festival has the theme Entry to Adventures displaying comic characters like second generation Boruto from a well-known Japanese comics. This is the first exclusive exhibition of Boruto officially authorized by its Japanese copyright owner. Available on site are opportunities to try out the world’s first Ninjutsu Squad 7 training level challenge, not to be missed by Boruto fans.
The Information Bureau states that in order to faithfully present the story line of the Ninjutsu training in Boruto, the Ninjutsu Squad 7 training level challenges is set up for Boruto fans and ninja headband-wearing Ninjutsu level scroll holders. One can try out level challenges like Shuriken (concealed hand blades), Rasengan, arm strength, Shadow Clone Jutsu. Once completing the challenges, the challenger will be given a limited-edition Boruto souvenir.
Additionally, the Information Bureau has invited the following artists to display their world-renowned comics: Penelope, a French piece of illustration in a very therapeutic style; Yowamushi Pedal, a Japanese comics featuring youth and hair-raising sport, plus a cute Japanese stationery brand, Tama & Friends. Also on display are excellent works listed for Taiwan’s Golden Comics Award, including the Apocalypse of Darkness Warfare and the Lord of Master - Li Bai as first-timers in this year’s San Diego Comic Convention. Awaiting visitors is a total of 16 home and international outstanding comics industry brands (IP) with their exciting content.
According to the Information Bureau, a world-renowned designer Chou Yu-Ren has been invited to curate the Taichung Comic Arts Festival to set it apart from other comic exhibitions, while connecting publishers and comics brands. There are interactive scenario-based displays to guide visitors, upon entering the exhibition, to enter a reconstructed space of Penelope’s room and Tama’s life in the Third Street. Visitors can also race with main characters from the Sohoku High School, then go on to try out various level challenges in Ninjutsu Squad 7 training, and last, enter the area featuring wide-ranged GCA-winning works enhanced with experiential AR/VR technologies. This will be a fabulous and novel adventure for all.
What’s more, the festival offers master talks/forums, DIY workshops, comic cinema, comic concerts, comic markets and free rides on comic mini-trains for children. Meanwhile, there are also FB check-in hot spots on site in conjunction with a treasure-hunting map. Limited-edition souvenirs are available for those completing the hunt, plus chances to win return flight tickets to Japan, great fun for a great summer.
