Arthas Statue is Blizzard Entertainment’s only bronze statue in Asia, located on the Calligraphy Greenway and designed by Steve Wang, a well-known Hollywood designer and his team of 30 people. The project took over 1,000 hours (over nine months) to complete.

The Calligraphy Greenway is creating a great sense of culture alongside the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, bringing this area a comprehensively artistic, humanist image.

Arthas Menethil is one of Blizzard’s most popular characters in the Warcraft game, the day he was born, the very forests of Lordaeron whispered his name. He was destined to become one of the greatest legends the world of Azeroth would ever know, and his actions would send ripples to the farthest corners of the world, leaving no living soul untouched. With his people suffering and the world he knew turning to ash in front of his eyes, Arthas made the difficult decision that would lead to his own ordeals and eventual downfall.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary, Blizzard Entertainment made Arthas Statue located in Taiwan to show the appreciation to the community of gamers in Taiwan and across Asia. It is also Blizzard’s first bronze statue in the public park.
Steve Wang is a Hollywood well-known make-up artist and filmmaker who was born in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to the United States when he was nine. This big project took 30 people and and over 1,000 hours (over nine months) to complete. His technique and the attention to detail in his artistic design bring Arthas to life, delivering an awe-inspiring presence to the Calligraphy Greenway of Taichung.
Arthas Statue is located in the southern part of the Calligraphy Greenway, bringing this area a comprehensively artistic, humanist image form the National Museum of Natural Science to the art museum. To create more special, fantasy experience to international tourists, Taichung City Government has been devoting a lot of effort on promoting Taichung by improving traditional culture and getting connection with global trend, smoothly mixing eastern history with western color.
