Built in 1935, the historic building “Teikoku Sugar Factory, Taichung Factory” that walked through the Japanese domination period to the national government period of the Republic of China and went through three owners witnessed the rise, prosperity and decline of Taiwan’s sugar refinery industry. After being out of production in 1993, a part of  Teikoku Sugar Factory, Taichung Factory was reopened to the public in 2019 as a part of Taichung Cultural Heritage Park. 

The internal space of the building is used not only to run exhibitions and activities related to the sugar refinery industry and Taichung’s local culture and development history, but also DIY and experiencing activities are held from time to time to bring great fun to all visitors, and craftsmen from all sectors are invited to hold cultural and creative workshops. Besides, the enormous Taichung Cultural Heritage Park is a good place for visitors to walk around during leisure time. During the day, you can walk up to the tower and overlook the panoramic view of  Teikoku Sugar Factory, Taichung Factory. Besides, the circle viewing platform located in the middle of Xingquan Lake offers visitors the opportunity to observe aquatic ecology in a close distance.
