National Library of Public Information
The National Library of Public Information (NLPI) is a national public library and digital library. It was registered in 2014 by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) as one of the "1001 Libraries to See Before You Die". Formerly known as the Taichung Prefecture Library established in 1921, it is tasked with supervising over 520 public libraries and operates as a third-level institution under the Ministry of Education.

The National Library of Public Information (NLPI) is a national public library and digital library. In addition to collecting, cataloging, and archiving all kinds of books and digital resources, promoting reading, and offering information services, it is also responsible for supervising public libraries nationwide at all levels. Its main library, located on Wuquan South Road, South District, Taichung City, was launched in 2012. The NLPI also has three branch libraries, namely Liming, Jingwu, and Zhongxing
The NLPI is designed with a river-like streamlined appearance, symbolizing the flow of unlimited knowledge. Its interior space incorporates the "outside-in" design concept, integrating outdoor views from various levels into the interior color scheme and furniture to create a spacious, bright, and modern environment. In the meantime, it also sets various zones for different age groups, such as young children, youth, and elderly people. The NLPI also integrates various emerging technologies (e.g., sensory, augmented reality, wireless radio frequency, 3D movies) and has installed highly interactive and immersive experience devices to provide citizens with good options for reading, leisure, and learning.
