Similar to Wufenpu in Taipei and Zhongxing Street in Yonghe, Tienjin Street in Taichung is home to a ton of clothing wholesalers. It is the biggest hub of clothing in Central Taiwan. First-time visitors to Tianjin Street might be intrigued by the clothes stacked in plastic bags placed on the floor. Most of the clothes for sale here are imported by wholesalers in cargo containers shipped directly from a foreign country to Taiwan. Most customers of these wholesalers are street vendors at First Street who often come to buy new merchandise with a large bag on their shoulders. If you are in for some good bargain, you should check out the Lunar New Year market and the clothing festival in July, during which many stores will offer great discounts. There will also be occasional holiday promotions. It will be the perfect chance to do some shopping.
