Stretching for nearly half a kilometer in front of National Chung Hsing University, the NCHU Greenway transforms into a golden avenue every May and June. During the blooming season, the branches are covered with clusters of golden yellow Cassia fistula (Golden Shower Tree) flowers. The petals sway in the wind and gently fall like golden rain, carpeting the ground in dazzling yellow—creating a scene both romantic and breathtaking.
Over a hundred golden shower trees are planted along this section of the NCHU Greenway in Taichung’s East District, forming a golden tunnel that feels like a dreamlike passage of gold. It’s a popular photo spot for citizens, students, and tourists alike, who stop to admire the seasonal beauty.
