Taichung municipal historic site, “Jukuiju Mansion” was built between Shōwa era 5th and 15th years (1930-1940) in Japanese occupation period. The combination of Baroque style and Chinese Sanheyuan style reveals how wealthy of the owner was at that moment. In terms of building materials, it uses a lot of red bricks. The 86 arc rings on the verandah are reserved under the efforts of many relevant units and the current owner. During the reconstruction, “clothes-washing hole” was revealed by accident. It is with deep cultural meaning and has become the model of “revitalizing historical site” repaired under the cooperation between the government and the private sectors. Minnan architecture combining with western culture creates the exquisite architecture with special features no matter it was at that moment or now.
