Occupying an area of approximately 8 hectares, the old campus of Dongshih Industrial High School was renovated by the team from Taichung City government, who turned the activity center, the auditorium, and the lecture building for the architecture department into the “Taichung Hakka Wellness Park,” taking up approximately 0.9 hectares. The park consists of the “Wellness Sports Pavilion” and the “Wellness Learning Pavilion,” positioning itself as the park with the primary focus on showcasing unique Hakka culture of Dapu, delivering general education for the locals, and enabling the public to experience the lifestyles of Hakka ancestors. Occupying approximately 7 hectares, the remainder of the space is used to create “Taichung Mountain City Wellness Park ,” which includes a circular trail, sports fields, and others, forming a wellness venue for the locals to rest, exercise, learn, and play sports.
