Adopting the design concept of Takeo City Library of Japan, the entire Lee Ko-Yung Memorial Library Taichung City Branch is built in a park. The main body of the three-story building is flawlessly integrated with the natural landscape, enabling the sunlight to shine just a right spot for reading while readers can also enjoy the beauty of the greenery, and thus accentuating a comfortable and leisure atmosphere liken that of reading in a bookstore. Outside of the library, there are coffee vending machines and seats for people to leisurely sip a cup of coffee surrounded by large banyan trees and the greenery. A sofa area with soft lights is especially designed for reading, allowing visitors to completely relax and attain a sense of tranquility for the body and soul that one so desperately needs from this hustling and bustling city.
