The white main body of the Waipu branch adopted a vertical scattered division, with simple and neat row of windows for the façade upon close view, which helped this architecture to be widely regarded as “Little White House.” A large area is covered with glass that encapsulates the vast greenery as well as the Huoyanshan and Tiezhenshan at a distance, allowing the public to enjoy reading while accompanied by spectacular scenery. On the first floor of the library, an “Elderly Area” is especially designed for senior citizens. Decorated with sofas, long tables for reading, and height-appropriate bookshelves, this area allows the elderly to read comfortably. Ingenuity and color blocks are utilized for the construction of the “Children’s Reading Area,” creating a happy reading world for the children.
