The CTUST-Guanyin Mountain Hiking Trail is 1 kilometers in length, at an elevation between 190 and 318 meters. There are several entrances to the trail, one of which is right behind the CTUST Technology Building. The highest point is the Emerald Buddha Temple on South Guanyin Mountain. From there visitors can follow the downhill trail back to Zhongtai Lake in CTUST.
At the Emerald Buddha Temple on the top of the South Guanyin Mountain, a huge golden statue of Guanyin stands in the middle of it. The atmosphere is solemn and tranquil, with believers visiting and worshiping.
This is a spot to overlook the busy and bustling Taichung City and also the green and undulating Dakeng mountain.
