From November to May of the following year, the whole lavender farm will turn into dreamy purple. The best time to see lavender is January and February. As for spring and autumn, people can see the beautiful salvia farinacea.
Lavender Cottage has a number of gardens: “Herb Garden”, which is planted with various herbs, not only provides guided tours to visitors, but also supplies herbs to the café; “Grace’s Garden” is a British garden planted with tropical plants and plants endemic to Taiwan; and “Forest Café”, which is situated inside the forest, offers specialties, herb tea and hand-made desserts made of fresh herbs. Through the explanations of the cooks, tourists can also learn how to take care of herbs and make herb cuisines.
Inside the forest, different kinds of bird houses are installed on the plum trees, cherry trees, tung tree and cedar trees. Not only appear Taiwan barbets, woodpeckers and owls in the forest, but also you can see Taiwan shovel-jaw carps in the river and an enormous amount of fireflies flying in the sky at night.
