As a rarely seen large-scale zhaiyuan (house with courtyards) in central Taiwan, “Wan Xuan Residence” was built in the Tongzhi period during the Qing dynasty, which now is of significant value to the development history of Fengyuan District. Construction of the house infused architecture of different styles, including those from Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, Chaozhou, among others. In 2004, it was declared as a historic building.
