2017 Taichung International Dance Parade & Festival is an innovative tourism festival based on cross-country collaboration. In addition to bringing international tourists to Taichung, the event establishes positive word-of-mouth for Central Taiwan tourism. Streets are transformed into a large stage featuring dance groups mainly comprising university and high school students.
The exceptional performances create a distinguishing momentum that facilitates tourism in Taichung. The festival is also carried out with the notion to establish a representative dance parade in Taiwan. Through exchanging and learning from the Japanese parade culture, the spirit of inheritance and sense of honor can be fostered among the young generation of Taiwanese.
This year, five prestigious Japanese dance groups are invited to participate in the dance parade & festival along with twelve Taiwanese student groups and performing groups. Features of authentic Taiwanese culture are elaborately incorporated into their stage outfits, music and performances. Images of the upcoming 2018 Taichung World Flora Expo are also presented in the festival. Streets are transformed into a large stage that showcases the creativity and innovation of various performing groups. The festival is highly recommended to participants of all ages for it is more than just a dance event but a jolly celebration that aspires to bring happiness to all citizens in Taichung!
