Taiwan Folk Museum＿Folklore Park
Folklore Park was opened to the public on March 1st, 1990. Its total area is around 1.6 hectares, and it is the first folklore park in Taiwan. The buildings in the park are mainly featured on the traditional Minnan-style architecture from the end of Qing Dynasty and early of the Republic. The Park contains two areas- folk custom and folk art.
The folk custom area (including the folk museum, Taiwan Folk Arts Museum, and folk crafts museum) is the main part of the park. Its key function is for static exhibition. Other than old buildings and architecture, the cultural relic used by people in Taiwan in early days was exhibited in the basement to demonstrate the track of history.
The folk art area (including folk crafts square and folk custom square) in mainly for dynamic activities. It presents vivid folk drums and arts performance, craft products displaying and selling, traditional delicious food, toys and games, and folk drama for people to fully experience a space with lifestyle in the old days. Through it, we want to enhance local culture and art as well as reserve and pass on the folk culture well.
Besides, landscape of arch bridge, winding corridor, garden, flowing water, and pond are included in the design of the park area to provide the public a recreational space for leisure stroll and photo taking.
