Hou-Feng Bike Path is 5.8 kilometers in length. It is converted from a deserted section of the Taiwan Railway Mountain Line, with diverse landscapes along the way. Cyclists can visit the steel bridge across Dajia River Valley and enjoy the cycling through “Tunnel No. 9”. The Railway Valley Winery is a European-style farm ideal for check-ins on social medias.
The iconic attraction, Dajia River Steel Bridge, is 382 meters long. Completed in 1908, it is the southernmost attraction of the deserted section of the Taiwan Railway Mountain Line. On each pair of bridge piers, there is a steel truss, commonly known as a “hua-liang” (artistic beam), an engineering masterpiece featuring strength and beauty.
Tunnel No. 9 is also a popular attraction on Hou-Feng Bike Path. It is 1.2 kilometers in length and the longest tunnel on the deserted section of the Taiwan Railway Mountain Line. Inside the tunnel it is bright, cool, and comfortable. Visitors not only enjoy the unique scenery in the tunnel, it is also a good place to cool off in summer.
